After the traditional, ‘Yay, yay, today it’s Friday’ dance, the team here at Stone Junction got together and compiled a list of the latest media moves for your convenience:
Many of you will be pleased to learn that The Radio Magazine has been re-launched in August and will function as a monthly publication. An A5 tome with regular technical features around broadcast and recording techniques, hardware and software, troubleshooting, new trends and more, publication sounds very promising. The editors have in mind a broad range of interviews with leading members of the industry, a recruitment section, as well as a training section and a diary of upcoming industry events.
Another newcomer on the trade media scene is Ship Technology Global. Launched as a digital magazine covering the ship industry, the first issue covers the world's most advanced vessels, high-tech remote-operated vehicles and trends in marine recruitment.
Pavilion Publishing has announced the launch of International Fire Professional: The Journal of the Institution of Fire Engineers. The quarterly title, published on behalf of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) was officially launched at the institution’s annual conference in July. Edited by Andrew Lynch, the title will feature contributions from IFE branches around the world as well as the latest developments in global fire engineering.
The official journal of the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists, published by the BMJ Group - Science and Practice has a new chief editor in chief – Phil Wiffen. The publication is a bimonthly journal covering research and advances in hospital pharmacy, innovations and developments in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences.
Metropolis Business Media's Building Products has appointed Joseph Dart as editorial assistant. He replaces Hannah Krol who has now joined Inside Housing as a sub editor.
Incisive Media is to launch a UK edition of the iPad publication Popular Science this month. The magazine aims to cover a wide range of topics, from gadgets to global warming, and explain how the latest developments and devices will change our lives. The new UK edition brings the same interactive design and content to the UK App Store, but using UK currency and metric units throughout, and with new UK-only articles.
So there you have it; after what was a rather quiet summer, it looks like we’ll have a very exciting season of new media changes for the trade press.
