How to become a Pinterest pro

Pinterest is no longer hot news. However, many businesses are still trying to make sense of it and maximise the marketing opportunities it offers.

Pinterest - your very own corkboard
Today we are going to explain what you can do with Pinterest and how you can generate more traffic by pinning relevant photos. With 11 million unique visitors, and counting, Pinterest is a simple way to gather images you find interesting and share them with the world. So if you are an electronics OEM, you could pin images of your newest product alongside news about certification or compliance.

The first thing you can do is pin your blog and web site images. You are thus creating a link to your post and increasing traffic, which will ultimately result in improved SERPs (Search Engine Results Page).

You can also pin people – not literally though! Although many of us tend to be camera shy, customers may be interested in the person they speak to every week when ordering their blue widgets. So why not take pictures of your members of staff and pin them? It also has the added advantage of creating a more human face for the business.

Also, make sure you always keep things simple and organised so that they all, combined, tell a story about your company, the products and the people.

If you are still not quite sure how to put these tips into practice, try learning from more influential ‘pinners’. Follow and engage with them and this way you may end up accessing their audiences as well.

Here at Stone Junction we often espouse the benefits of using social media for small and medium companies. If you would like to share your experiences, or just need some help with Pinterest, give us a call!
