Using Blogger as a CMS

As long-standing readers will know, I’m a big fan of Google’s Blogger as a design platform, when compared to the likes of Wordpress and Typepad. However, if you’ve been using Blogger for a long time, as I have, you will know that one of its shortfalls has always been the lack of user generated content in the form of templates and plug-ins. Wordpress has, literally, tens of thousands of these, which is a big tick in its box.

But help is at hand, in the shape of a really useful post over on Blogger design site Blogger Buster. One of their recent articles lists their 100 favourite Blogger templates of 2010; which brings a great resource together in a really readable format.

So, if you are looking for a way of building a virtual press office, a micro site or even a full blown Web site in 2011, you could do much worse than use Blogger. Or, if you are interested in a professional and readable Blog, managed by yours truly at Stone Junction, get in touch.
