The myth of Blogger SEO

Blogger; very useful as part of a Technical PR, Engineering PR, Industrial PR, Manufacturing PR or Electronics PR campaignIt's a popular misconception that Blogger.com produces Blogs that can't be optimised for search. That's not true - this Blog and many others that perform very well for their key search terms are built and managed with Blogger.

However it is fair to say that you have to know a little bit more about Blogger, and a tiny bit of HTML, to optimise one really effectively. For instance, there are plenty of CMS for Blogs that just won't let you upload an image without adding ALT attributes. With Blogger, you have to manually add these using (very, very simple) HTML.

Equally, Google doesn't lend greater weight to a Blogger Blog just because it owns the platform.

So what's the moral of the story? Don't panic - there are more myths and legends in SEO than in any other industry. Just be confident, choose the Blogging platform that you feel most comfortable with and start creating something. And if you want a corporate Blog but don't have the time - get in touch.
